There is currently about $23 million in state funding being spent on local projects throughout the Basin to reduce flood damage and restore habitat, including floodwalls, restoration, and reconnecting flood plains. The actions proposed in the Chehalis Basin Strategy aim to address these problems at a much larger, Basin-wide scale, adding on to these existing projects.
Chehalis Basin Flood Authority
The Chehalis Basin Flood Authority distributes state funding for small-scale, local projects to reduce flood damage. This includes building levees and dikes, stream restoration, improving existing dams, and more. On their website you can:
