Webinar: Rising Waters, Ready Communities, Flood Preparedness in the Chehalis River Basin

Recent wet, stormy weather is a reminder the upcoming 2024-25 flood season is coming soon and being ready is essential for safeguarding lives and livelihoods in the Chehalis River basin. Join us Tuesday, Dec. 3 at noon for “Rising Waters, Ready Communities, Flood Preparedness in the Chehalis River Basin,” a timely, one-hour community webinar hosted by the Department of Ecology’s Office of Chehalis Basin (OCB).
The webinar will bring together experts and community leaders to share practical tips on how to protect your home and community, including measures you can take to stay safe before, during and after a flood. The event will include speakers from OCB, Lewis County Emergency Management and the Chehalis River Basin Flood Authority, and will cover:
- How to use the Flood Authority’s flood warning system
- Role of county emergency responders during floods
- Ways to floodproof your home and belongings
- What to do when a flood occurs
This webinar will also offer live Spanish interpretation.
